We are stoked to have these awesome products in The Surf Shop range – nothing better than being able to capture all those sessions from within the water so you have a permanent record of your waves.
The size of these things are crazy (so small!) so they don’t get in the way at all.
Oh yeah, and did I mention that for the month of January every purchase of a Muvi Micro will receive a free Extreme Sports Mounting Pack. If you purchase an Atom or Muvi HD you will receive a free Pebble Smart Stick (a pretty sick portable battery pack so you can recharge on the go).
Our first shipment of Float has just arrived in and we have finished the compulsory initial viewing.
First thoughts – it is what you expect, but is executed and edited so well that it is a pleasure to watch. Rip Curl’s A team does what they do best, with surfing to suit everyones tastes – massive barrels, massive airs and crazy hacks.
Dane Reynolds is as qualified as anyone when it comes to determining what constitutes a sick surf dvd. He has just listed 5 surf movies that blew his mind on Surfer Magazine and lucky for you we have four of his top five picks at The Surf Shop! Check them out below (in case you care, Good Times is one of our personal all time favourites – the surfing is epic and has the classic 90′s punk rock sound track):
Kai Neville has outdone himself once more – Modern Collective showcased his talent perfectly, but with Lost Atlas he has taken it to the next level.
There is an expanded number of surfers this time round, but the standard is just as high right across the board. After watching some of these sections you will be left wondering where surfing can go next – these guys are pushing the barriers hard.
A Dingo’s Tale has just arrived in stock today – to be honest I wasn’t expecting an epic movie, but was quickly proven wrong after watching it through. His all round surfing is bullshit and the story delves into his past giving a good insight in to his early struggles in life.
The only encounter I have had with Dean Morrison was after the Quiksilver Pro event at Hossegor a few years ago, when after consuming multiple beers he proceeded to jump on a table in the crowded bar and then whip out his old fella. After watching this movie it doesn’t look like it was an isolated incident – don’t worry though, the PG rating ensures you won’t be scarred from too much male nudity.
For the first time we are now selling wetsuits and booties at The Surf Shop.
We have some of the awesome West range now on site, with the top selling Edge Extreme wetsuits available now in all sizes. The size chart on each product page mean that you can choose the suit that is best for you without even trying it on. This system works, trust me – I used the size chart to order my Edge Extreme and it is the best fitting (and warmest) wettie I have ever owned.
This product solves a big issue for any surfer who ever hits the road. Fix your damaged goods in a matter of minutes so you can get straight back into it.
Once you want to whack in a more permanent repair job, simply peel it out.
This stuff is insane… and bloody cheap. $12.95!
Finally, we have a response to every one who thought The Drifter focused too much on the art style shots and didn’t have enough surfing. “Melali – The Drifter Sessions” shows all the best surf footage that wasn’t included on The Drifter. Needless to say that with some of the names involved, it is pretty sick:
As well as the DVD, you get a CD soundtrack and a poster to whack up on your wall – not bad for $39.95! Check out the Melali trailer before you buy, although you should just add it straight to your cart.
A mad talented surfer, that’s who. We are down to our last few copies of this new release DVD which differs from his previous signature movies. It is a no holds barred look at his life and provides an insight in to his upbringing and how it is has shaped him.
Sure, he is a bit of a dick, but a damn entertaining one and a joy to watch in the water. Check out the “Who is J.O.B.” trailer…
